The Last Rivalry.

Mother’s Day is typically a joyous holiday, but for some folks it can be particularly hard.
Especially the first Mother’s Day after losing a loved one. Be it a grandmother, mother,
auntie, sister, or just someone special in your life, it is important to not dwell in grief, but
remember the good times we spent with them. UNHEARDOF wanted to create a shoe that encourages everyone to stay positive during hard times, and to always stop and smell the flowers.

For one last time, Unheardof is revisiting its storied Grandma’s Couch Rivalry Low to
celebrate the life of their matriarch Naomi Phillips. Sitting atop a gum rubber midsole, the
Final Rivalry features premium Baby Pink pig suede in tribute to her favorite flower, the
orchid. Building on the orchid theme, the iconic 3 Stripes are alternating green and red
pig suede, representing the orchid’s stems and growth. The panels are an update of the
beloved embroidered floral couch pattern with a completely new design, unique to each shoe.

The Final Rivalry further honors Naomi with embossed examples of her handwriting. In
addition to her handwritten Adidas branding on the heel tab, Phil Lipschutz’s loving tribute to her states “Dear Naomi” at the forefoot, and the phrase he signed every card with; “Love, Always and Forever” on the heel counter. A fitting way for Phil to give Grandma her flowers one last time!
