Established in 1882, Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky (also known as CHNK Behavioral Health) is a premier provider of behavioral health and substance use treatment services. Outpatient and residential services benefit children who have experienced mental health disorders, addiction, abuse, neglect, or other serious trauma. Operating out of three locations in Northern Kentucky, the CHNK team of 100 healthcare professionals takes a trauma-informed and family-focused approach to treatment, annually impacting more than 2,900 individuals. School supplies and art supplies are ALWAYS needed at CHNK, given the large amount of children who come through its programs. Art therapy is often used in conjunction with more traditional therapy, giving children an opportunity to express themselves through painting, sketching, clay, and other formats. And if you thought getting school supplies for 2 or 3 kids was daunting, try 40! CHNK’s clients use a ton of composition books each year, not to mention all the other traditional supplies like glue stick, note paper, tape, rulers, and folders. Given the current pandemic, help with facial tissues, bottles of gel sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes would be greatly appreciated too, since CHNK knows those items will be needed in greater capacity once the school year begins.
